Awards are presented in the name of ‘The National Rose Society of Australia’.

The rose with the highest mark becomes ‘Australia’s Rose of the Year’ and receives the ‘Marion de Boehme Memorial Award’ for the ‘Best Rose in the Trial’.

  • Rose Hills Perpetual Challenge Bowl (USA) for ‘Best Floribunda’
  • The Governor of Gifu’s Award (Japan) for ‘Most Fragrant Rose’
  • Jamie Irwin Award for ‘Most Pest and Disease Tolerant Rose’.
  • The Gerald Meylan Perpetual Trophy for ‘Best Shrub or Ground Cover Rose’
  • The Davis Award for ‘Best Australian Bred Rose’
  • The Dean Stringer Award for ‘Best Miniature or Mini Flora Rose’.
  • David Ruston Trophy for the ‘Best Climber Rose’.

Award Ceremonies are held in October of each year, where the award winning roses are displayed and released to the media and public.

Progress Judging results of the cultivars are forwarded once in the first year at the completion of their assessments, and twice in the second year – in January and on completion in May to those who submitted the roses for trial.
